Building Better Software Through Better Testing

We're the team that helps businesses in Taiwan turn testing headaches into competitive advantages. Since 2018, we've been obsessed with one thing: making software quality something you can actually count on.

How We Started

Back in 2017, I was debugging a payment system at 2 AM for the third time that month. The issue? A simple form validation that should've been caught weeks earlier. That night, I realized something: most companies treat testing like an afterthought, not a business strategy.

So Astrid and I started Flashupenergy with a different approach. Instead of just finding bugs, we help companies build testing processes that prevent them. We focus on the Taiwan market because we understand the unique challenges here — from rapid development cycles to complex integration requirements.

Today, we work with companies who've realized that good testing isn't about perfection. It's about confidence. When your testing process works, you ship faster, sleep better, and spend less time putting out fires.

Our Journey

2018

The Beginning

Started with two people and a laptop in a shared workspace in Kaohsiung. Our first client was a logistics company struggling with their inventory management system. Three months later, they hadn't had a single critical bug in production.

2020

Growing Pains and Solutions

The pandemic forced everyone to think differently about software reliability. We helped 12 companies transition to remote-first testing processes. This year taught us that good testing frameworks work regardless of where your team sits.

2022

Specialization Focus

Decided to focus specifically on testing process improvement rather than general consulting. This meant saying no to some projects, but it allowed us to become really good at what we do best: helping companies build sustainable quality practices.

2025

Today

We're a team of 18 people working with companies across Taiwan. Our clients range from fintech startups to manufacturing companies with decades of legacy systems. What they all have in common: they want testing that actually improves their business, not just checks boxes.

The People Behind the Process

We're not the biggest testing team in Taiwan, but we might be the most focused. Everyone here has spent years figuring out why testing breaks down and how to fix it.

Astrid Chen, Founder and Quality Assurance Director

Astrid Chen

Founder & QA Director

Started her career fixing other people's testing mistakes at a major bank. Now she helps companies build testing strategies that work from day one. Believes that the best bug is the one that never makes it to production.

Linnea Svensson, Co-Founder and Testing Strategy Lead

Linnea Svensson

Co-Founder & Testing Strategy Lead

Spent five years as a developer before switching to testing. This background helps her bridge the gap between what developers build and what actually works in the real world. Specializes in automated testing frameworks that teams actually want to use.

What Drives Us

Testing isn't glamorous work, but it matters. Every bug we catch before it hits production saves someone's weekend. Every process we improve makes a development team's life a little easier.

Practical Over Perfect

We build testing solutions that work with your current setup, not fantasy scenarios. Perfect testing processes don't exist, but better ones definitely do.

Honest Timelines

Improving testing processes takes time. We give you realistic expectations upfront rather than promising miracles. Good testing culture develops gradually, not overnight.

Local Understanding

Taiwan's tech landscape has its own rhythms and requirements. We've worked here long enough to understand what actually works in this market, not just in Silicon Valley case studies.

Long-term Thinking

We're not here to implement quick fixes that break in six months. Our goal is helping you build testing capabilities that get stronger over time, not weaker.
